Frederick Francis DeLutis

Mr Frederick Francis DeLutis, “Freddie”, age 71 of Dunnellon FL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 10, 2021. He grew up in Mansfield, MA as the youngest of 3 children and was surrounded by a tight knit Italian family including 75+ cousins. He was born into a creative family where dance and music took center stage. He learned to play 21 instruments before he turned 21 and his love of music continued throughout his life. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degree from Boston College and received the Colonel Kelly award for the Most Spirited Member of the Marching Band. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He maintained his pilot’s license throughout his life and shared his passion for flying with his son Kevin.

He taught 4th grade for several years and left the teaching profession to become a Master Electrician. He built a thriving electrical contracting business, "DeLutis Electric", based out of Fort Pierce, FL. He moved to Dunnellon in 2011 and became part of the fabric of the community. You could often find him riding his Harley, working with his hands, and helping others. He had a heart of gold and such an incredible gift of making everyone laugh and feel special.

Freddie leaves behind his beloved wife Judie of 36 years, his sister Dottie and her husband Earle, his son Kevin, his daughter Tracy and son in law Pete, and his cherished grandchildren, Sammy, Alex, Avery and Reid.

Funeral Services for Mr. DeLutis will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 16, 2021, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon, FL.  The family will receive friends from 1 PM until service time.
