Gayle Mataske Obituary

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, Gayle Ann Mataske (Dewitt), loving mother passed away at the age of 74 in her home. Gayle was born on March 18,1947 in Morris, IL. 

 

Gayle held many diverse occupations during her lifetime including car hop at A&W Rootbeer, book keeper at the Citrus County planning and zoning, security guard, and was a retail specialist who worked for TJ Maxx for almost 20 years upon her retirement. She was passionate about compiling the family tree genealogy. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards and having her granddaughter, Amber, stay with her the last year of her life. She was admired for her warrior strength and was a inspiration to all that knew her. 

 

Gayle is survived by her two children who were the lights of her life: Lavonne (Robert) Wilder of Coal City, IL. and Don (Carey) Muzzarelli of Ft. Lauderdale Fl. Her grandchildren, Alyssa Green (Brett Moulton); Great grandson, Clark David Moulton; Rachael Green, and Amber Wilder; Her sisters, Donna Dewitt of Citrus Springs FL; and Audrey Vertin (Pete Rekitzke) of Lake Village, Indiana; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and best friend Tracey Wells. 

 

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her soulmate, William (Bill) Long; her loving parents, Donald Dewitt, Jean and Donald Hexdall; her Aunt Joan Neven and Uncle Bruce Pobanz, who were especially close to her heart. 

 

Cremation rights have been accorded through Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon LLC.  A private family ceremony will be arranged to celebrate her incredible life.
