James H. Alvis, Sr.

James H. Alvis, Sr 91, died on October 2, 2023 in Tampa, FL. He was born into this life on May 5, 1932 in Bartow, FL and was the son to the late William E and Mary (Crosby) Alvis. James moved to Pinellas County in 1950. During his time in Pinellas County, James owned and operated ALL LINE Construction. He later sold his share to his partner and following his retirement he moved to a farm in Tennessee. He then relocated to Okeechobee and then Dunnellon where he made his home. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Citrus Springs.  James enjoyed traveling in his RV, racing cars, hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; his stepson, Bert Blanton; his brothers, Junior Alvis, Ashley Alvis; and his sister, Lottie Blone.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jimmy (Sharon) Alvis, Jr., Brady (Teresa) Alvis; his daughters, Donna (Tom) Rippley, Cindy (Deen) Walker; his stepdaughters, Terry (Gordon) Salter and Sherri (Dean) Gallegos and daughter in law Irma Blanton; his twelve grandchildren, Deric, Mark, Jimmy, Kimberly, JR, Tiffany, Reece, Kendra, Garrett, Meghan, Renee, Arron and his six great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation held on the same day one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow services at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills.
