James Metta Obituary

James Metta passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, December 28th, 2020.

Beloved husband of Bonnie; devoted father of Kathryn (Powell), Tyler, Austin, and the late Amanda Metta; brother of David (Gail), Michael, and Paul (Kathy); uncle of Alec and Mason Metta; brother-in-law to John (Debra) Riha; uncle of Chris and Nick (Karen) Riha.

James was dedicated to the United States of America, serving time in the US Army just after high school, and continuing his service to the people as a Detective and Police Officer in Westmont IL and as Police Chief in Wilmington IL.

A loving father and husband, James cherished spending time with his family and participating in his favorite outdoor activities: trap shooting, fishing, and wood-working. He also enjoyed practicing his culinary skills by delighting friends and family with his gifts from the kitchen and at the bar-be-que.

He will be sorely missed by his family and those who knew him.
