June L. Wetzel

Dunnellon, Rainbow Springs-June Leslie Wetzel, 83, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday evening, May 2, 2021 while under the care of Hospice in Marion County, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 8, 1937 in Childress, TX and was the daughter to the late William Leslie and Everea (Freeman). She was a real cowgirl when Joe married her in Texas sixty-three years ago.

 June is preceded in death by her sister, Anne Briggs.

In 1983 June and Joe moved to Florida from Atlanta, GA. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, playing the piano, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a long-time member of the Nature Coast Unitarian Universalist Church.  

She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Joseph Wetzel, Dunnellon; her son Bill Wetzel (Gail), Atlanta, GA; her daughter, Lisa Gantt (Jimmy), Lexington, SC; her sister, Peg Landrum (Lowell), Lafayette, IN; her grandchildren, Christian Gantt, Leslie Wetzel and Lauren Wetzel.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, FL 34432.
