Lena Eudella Richards Lobban of Dunnellon,
Florida, passed away at her home on September 7, 2021. She grew up in Jamaica, West Indies. She was the oldest of 9 children born to the late Vernon Richards and Florence Matthews Richards. She was the quiet, but helpful daughter to her parents and loving sister to her siblings. Lena realized her dream early when she arrived in England where she trained and became a registered nurse. She later immigrated to the United States where she worked as a nurse for 40 years. After she retired, she moved to Dunnellon, Florida. She was a long time member of the Mamaroneck SDA church in New York and the Dunnellon SDA church here in Florida. Her contribution to the church was immeasurable as Sabbath School superintendent, prayer coordinator, children department leader, head deaconess, chorister, and other positions. She enjoyed working in her garden. She loved flowers of all kinds. She was a gifted cook. Lena assisted many people with little or no rest for herself. She was a blessing to many people.
Lena was survived by her three children, Jackie, Joanne (Joan), and Richard; and her beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Micah, Benjamin, Bethany and Valerie.
For those who wish, Memorial Contributions may be made to ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), at 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Springs, Maryland 20904. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency International is a humanitarian agency operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the purpose of providing individual and community development and disaster relief, and was a favorite charity of Lena's.
