Ocala – Parilee Bridges Murray, 83, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at her home. Parilee was born on October 28, 1929 in Dunnellon, Florida to the late Lonnie and Rena Belle Bridges. She graduated from Dunnellon High School and shortly thereafter was swept away by a sailor.
She raised three children with Robert E. Murray while traveling around the world as a Navy wife. Always an avid traveler, Parilee took several cross-country road trips and European vacations in the past decade with friends she met through church and volunteering.
Parilee was an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Cotton Plant. She was always thinking of other people first and volunteered over 5,000 hours with Hospice of Marion County since 1994.
She is survived by her three children, Robert, Benton and Andrew Murray, her four grandchildren, Rena, Heather, David and Daniel Murray, and her two stepgrandchildren, Jerry Smith and Joni Varnadoe.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Cotton Plant.
Flowers may be sent in care of Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon. Donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County or to the upkeep of the cemetery at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Cotton Plant.
