Patrick H. Martin, 82, died on August 26, 2024 at the E.W. Lucille Cates Hospice House in Ocala, FL. He was born into this life on October 4, 1941 in Teaneck, NJ and was the son to the late Walter T. Martin and Frieda (Lang) Martin. Pat enlisted with the United States Navy on October 2, 1959 and served our country during the Vietnam War in a submarine until October 26, 1967. Following his service with the military, Pat made his home in Saddle Brook, NJ where he worked as a Firefighter and eventually retiring with the Teaneck Fire Department. In 1997, he decided to move to Florida and made his home in Dunnellon. While living in Dunnellon, Pat met and married Joyce. They lived in the Woodlands and were members of the First Methodist Church in Dunnellon. He volunteered helping food 4 kids, and was one of the founding members of the Pre-School committee who helped start the program at church. He truly had a heart for children, as he would also volunteer and play Santa Claus. Pat also helped maintain the church grounds by mowing as needed. He enjoyed doing stained glass and solitaire. Pat was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grand- father and friend who will be greatly missed, but will continue to live in our hearts as we remember this fine man.
He is preceded in death by his son, Patrick Martin, Jr. and his former wife, Ella Martin.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce Martin; his son, Karl Martin (Michelle), NJ; his stepchildren, Michael Blue (Cindy), Jonathon Blue (Megan); his brother, Walter Martin; his grandchildren, Lucas, Gavin, Henry, Jack, Hannah, Marie, Grace and two great grandchildren.

A Committal service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial services will be held the following day, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Methodist Church in Dunnellon.
