Stephen T. Collop

Stephen (Steve) T. Collop was born in Detroit, Michigan on Sept, 29, 1954 to his parents Catherine and Thomas Collop. He was the 2nd of 7 siblings (Brian, Tom, Matt, Melanie, Connie, and Drew). He was preceded in death by both his parents and eldest brother Brian. Steve met his wife Rhesa Lane in Gainesville, Florida and they married in 1980. They happily raised their family in Williston, FL. Steve was a devoted father to Erik (Jennifer) and Craig (Heather) and a loving Papa to his grandchildren Cade, Nora, Rori and Bryn and Landen, Brayden, and Sadie. His family really was his true joy.

Steve took much pride in working for the IBEW 1205 in Gainesville for 30+ years where he met lifelong friends and became a very skilled and knowledgeable Union Electrician. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, hunting, fishing, telling stories, a good cup of coffee, a cold bud ice, and in recent years going to the Rainbow River and floating with Rhesa as often as they could.

Steve went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2022 surrounded by his family at home after battling a lengthy illness. Steve was such a thoughtful, kind, and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and especially by his family.
