Steve Allen Pye, 68, departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 while under the care of hospice at Cate’s house in Ocala, FL. Steve was born in Orange County, FL on October 6, 1952 and was the son to the late James Wesley Pye and Angeline Elizabeth Carmen Pye. While growing up Steve lived in Winter Haven, FL, Nebraska and graduated in 1970 from Lyman High School in Longwood, FL. He enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1970 during the Vietnam War. In 1975 Steve moved to Ocala, FL and worked for Dayco until 1998 and then started up his own computer business. In 2005 he became a substitute teacher for the Marion County School System for about six years. Steve enjoyed fishing with his family and skeet shooting at the Robinson Ranch with his son. He enjoyed watching football especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers and he had childlike side to him as he enjoyed in the past playing his Gameboy, especially space fighter and tetris. Steve was a member of Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon where he served in security, ushering, going on visitations visiting the sick and shut- in’s and helped count the offerings at church. He was a man of God who truly loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Pye and Dwight Pye.
He leaves behind his wife of 33yrs., Marsha Pye, Dunnellon; his son, Kyle Pye, Dunnellon; his daughters, Lindsey Pye and Kacie Pye of Dunnellon; his brother, Bruce Pye, Arkansas; his sisters, Lynn Coleman, San Antonio, TX and Coleen Hernandez, Hershey, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon. Burial with military honors will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
