Thomas Adams Gaitanis

Thomas A. Gaitanis, age 77 of Dunnellon, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, with his family by his side.

Tom was raised in Gainesville, FL. He received a Bachelor’s degree in math and physics from Berry College in Rome, GA, and a Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. He taught math and physics at Dunnellon High School for 37 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, camping and riding his motorcycles.  He was a magician with all things mechanical.

Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores, his sons David Gaitanis (Meredith), and Gregory Gaitanis, his brother Robert Gaitanis, his sister Kathryn Richardson (Robert), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Mr. Gaitanis will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, October 16, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon.  Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, October 17 at the First Methodist Church of Dunnellon, 21501 W. Highway 40, Dunnellon.  Interment will be in Forest Meadows Cemetery, Gainesville.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the First Methodist or First Baptist Churches of Dunnellon.
