Timothy Morris Obituary

Timothy Wayne Morris, “The Happy Whistler”, 72, of Dunnellon, FL went to be with the Lord, February 2, 2021. The son of the late Glen and Ruby Vest Morris, Tim was one of seven children born in Pulaski, VA.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer Morris, Reba Phelps, Evaleen Umberger, and Marie Walling. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Donna Christian Morris; children, Rodney Morris (Cynthia), Lisa Christian Ratcliffe (Jay), Jamie Christian (Megan), Laura Morris Goforth (Kevin), Michael Christian (Michelle), and Glen Morris; grandchildren, Josh Call (Alice), Michael Goforth (Aneshia), Ashleigh Ratcliffe (Nick), Christopher Wilburn, Timothy Goforth, Brenden Ratcliffe (Bridget), Shawn Christian, Riley Christian, Dylan Christian, Christian Morris, & Joel Morris; great grandchildren, Elijah & Jaxon; sisters, Janet Harmon & Becky Hicks (David); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. His fur babies include Petie, and Calico Cat, Charlie Dog (deceased), horses Bandit & Peppy (deceased).

Timothy entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 16 where he served 20 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. Tim held many positions in the Navy, but his passion and love was for animals, specifically the dogs he trained and cared for.  Tim took that love for animals throughout his life, getting to train and love dogs, cats and horses.  After retiring from the Navy, Tim used his forever-smile and easy nature in the Auto industry working in sales for several automotive dealers in the Bluefield and Princeton, WV areas.  After retiring from sales, Tim took a part time job working for Acme Grocery where he met and fell in love with his wife Donna Morris. Their marriage carried them to Tazwell, VA where he was owner/operator of Circle M Tack. After retiring from that business, he took a part time job at Southern States of Tazewell where he met and became friends with many amazing people.  Timothy was a member of Thompson Valley Evangelical Presbyterian Church for 15 years where he grew closer to the Lord. His caring, and concern for the families and children around him never wavered, always bringing him to a quick laugh and easy smile. Timothy cared deeply for his family and his friends.  His favorite moments were visiting that family, sharing his understanding of woodworking, animals and teaching them to ride, camp and to simply love each other. In the most recent years, Timothy and his wife Donna retired to Dunnellon Florida where they bonded with the community of Springs Presbyterian Church. Here they found a more extended family to share with, from lunches to bowling, Tim grew to care deeply about the friends in the area.  He loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and acquaintances.  He will be missed by his family and many friends.

We would like to express our gratitude to West Marion Hospital doctors, loving nurses, and loving aides.
