Tracy Lynne Eddy Gates, born 54, of Dunnellon, FL unexpectedly passed away Wednesday June 8th, 2022.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon Saturday June 18th at 11:00 am. Pastor Al Hopkins will be officiating. A luncheon will be held at Gruffs Tap & Grill located at 12084 S Williams St. Dunnellon following the service.
Tracy was born in Inverness, FL on May 16th 1968. She graduated from Dunnellon High School and continued her education receiving a Paraoptometric certification. Tracy worked as an Optical technician until she became a stay at home mom. Her greatest love was her family and she took great pride in caring for them.
Tracy was married to Obrey Levan Gates. She was compassionate to others and excelled at motherhood. She was known for having a heart of gold, always knowing exactly what to say to make things better and making the best potato salad around. Tracy always had an ear ready to listen, a hand willing to help others and you couldn’t leave her house without being offered a snack from her well stocked pantry along with a glass of her one of a kind tea! Appreciate your loved ones while you can, because none of us are going to be here forever was one of her favorite sayings that she lived by.
Tracy is survived by her husband Obrey Gates, father Charles Eddy, siblings Thomas Eddy, Charlene Gorski and Susan Bakowski, children Luther Mckiver (Dawn Mckiver), Tiffany Collymore (Kevin Collymore), Trena Eddy, Levan Curry, Samara Macklefresh (Shawn Macklefresh), Darrien Gates and Brooklynne Gates, grandchildren Kevin, Tiana and Ariya Collymore, Tristan Macklefresh, two grand pups she adored and many other family and friends. Her greatest treasure was truly her family.
Tracy is preceded in death by her mother Audrey Eddy and brother Jerry Eddy. She was a dedicated caretaker to her parents and always said that they were her heroes and loved to tell the story of how they met.
