Zolton ( also known as Jim or Sonny) Tisza, 85, died on June 19, 2023 at Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto. He was born on May 27, 1938 in Hamilton Township, New Jersey and was the son to the late Zolton Tisza and Anna Rose Kuti. Jim moved from Manchester Township, NJ to Citrus Springs eighteen years ago with his wife Mary, after retiring from the Borough of Lakehurst, NJ where he worked as an auto mechanic servicing law enforcement vehicles. Jim also worked as a program director for the Department of Juvenile Justice in, NJ. When he moved to Florida, he became a contract driver for Federal Express in its custom critical division. Jim was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Crystal River Moose Lodge. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs. He was known as “Jim the Mower Man” because he enjoyed repairing lawnmowers. When he was not tinkering with mower’s he enjoyed bicycling. Jim will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son and his daughter.
Jim is survived by his wife of thirty- eight years, Mary Tisza; his three stepdaughters and six step-grandchildren; his one granddaughter and eight great- grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs, FL followed by a reception in the church hall. Jim’s family will be receiving relatives and friends from 10-11 AM in the church.
