Elaine S. Jessell, 71, died on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Shand’s Hospital in Gainesville. She is survived by her husband of twenty five years, Richard Jessell, Dunnellon; her son Jeremy Jessell (Elizabeth), Canada; her daughters, Tobi Butcher (Kenny), Plant City, FL, Janet Becher (David), Sarasota, FL, Tracy Shamonsky (Kevin), NJ; her twin sister, Laura Tumoszwicz, Dunnellon; her grandchildren, Trey Butcher, Jordyn Butcher, Katie Becher, Abbie Becher, Sarah Masri, Zachary Masri, Daniel Masri, Adam Masri, and three great grandchildren.

Elaine was born on February 14, 1949 in Richmond, VA and was the daughter to the late Aaron and Ruth (Smith) Benenson. She grew up in West Palm Beach, FL graduating from Rivera Beach High School and then went on to study at Florida Atlantic University obtaining her Master’s degree and continued her studies at Nova Southeastern where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. Prior to moving to Dunnellon seventeen years ago, she was self-employed with Galley Maid Marine Products Inc. in West Palm Beach. Most recently Elaine was a Substitute Teacher specializing in Special Needs Children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling. Along with her husband going on many cruises, Gold Wing cycle rides, and gambling at the casinos. In support of her husband’s military service Elaine became a Auxillary  member of the VFW Post 150 of Crystal River, FL. Her love, kindness, and the memories she shared with all of her family and friends will always be remembered. We love you and we will miss you dearly until we meet again.
