John Anthony Dunning, 75, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 23, 1944, he was preceded in death by both parents, Norman and Kay Dunning. John is survived by two brothers, Jim (Peggy) Dunning, and Michael (Bernadine) Dunning; his loving wife of 26 years, Carol Dunning; his daughter, Laura (Brian) Evans; and five beautiful grandchildren, Parker, Sophia, Preston, Cade, and Arden.
John was an avid wood worker who loved making dulcimers, furniture, and intricate toys for his beloved grandchildren. When not wood working, he spent time treasure hunting with Carol in antique shops and boutiques. He also loved traveling around the world with Carol making frequent trips to see his daughter and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Faith Episcopal Church in Dunnellon, Florida, where he was a member for over 19 years. The memorial service begins at 10am on Saturday, October 30, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John’s name to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
