I did not know of Penny’s death until today, February 7, 2020. I have known Penny since I was four and she was three. We became best “buds” in our high school years, and continued to keep in touch off and on throughout our lives. Penney was always fun and full of life. She was deeply affected by the art and artists that her father, then her husband brought into her life. I am pleased that I was able to visit her in Dunnellon several times at her beautiful house on Blue River. She was a one-of-a-kind deeply loving soul.

Our dear Aunt Penn, you will always & forever live in our heart. You & Uncle Darryl will truelly be missed you were for sure one in a million. You will forever live on thru your beloved Blue Run! So many amazing memories we have had there on that beautiful waterway! All of the conversations Wes had with his Great Aunt Penn, while the river softly flowed behind them. It will be a hard day saying our final goodbye, we just hope the next family will love that amazing house Uncle Darryl designed as much as we all have over the years.

Our love will never leave.

Penny was not a close friend, but a lady I certainly admired from a distance. I knew her for the last 35 years of my time in Dunnellon as one who always poured her heart and soul into promoting this town. She loved the citizens, the River, and life in general. She had great imagination and curiosity - was always thinking out of the box and suggesting solutions when challenges were introduced. She was an icon in Dunnellon and will be missed. She did indeed make a difference!.

We had fun, didn't we Penny? At times, in your most difficult moments these last couple of years, we also shed a few tears together. But, you were always the best of friends, kind and caring. We'll miss your sweet smile, sometimes wicked sense of humor, and taut wit. Rest in peace, my friend. And have a GREAT time now with those who went before you. I've no doubt they were awaiting you with open arms.
Your ever-Rainbow River-loving-compadre', Kathryn

My heart breaks from this news. I've known Penny for over twenty yeara and in that time we've made a lot of memories and fun times. She always said to me "I am the bad penny and you are the good Penny". And she explained to people there were only two Pennys in town... her and I. Such funny memories. Her legacy will be all that she has done for the betterment of Dunnellon. She left her mark and that is all that we can wish for.... a mark that shows that we were here and we made a difference.
