Guenthner, James Allen (Jim), 73, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away Monday, June 19th from Alzheimer's disease.  He was preceded in death by his father, James Alfred Guenthner in 1997.  Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Carolyn Dell Guenthner; two sons, Andy Guenthner of Lancaster, California and Michael Guenthner (Kathy) of North Ridgeville, Ohio; mother, Naida Tillitson (Larry) of Ocala, Florida; stepmother, Lois Guenthner (John) of St. Petersburg, Florida.
      He is also survived by two sisters, Sheryl Skikus (Ralph) of Citrus Springs, Florida and Shanna Coate-Reesby  (Andy) of Pleasant Hill, Ohio.  Jim is also survived by three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law, three nieces, four nephews, three great nieces and one great nephew.  He is also survived by a very special yellow Labrador retriever, "Gracie."
      Jim was born in Piqua, Ohio and graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree; he was employed by The Dayton Daily News as a Graphic Designer and retired in 2006 after 36 years of service.
    He lived in the West Milton, Ohio area for 33 years where he volunteered as a  commissioner, coach and referee for the community youth soccer program for ten years. In 1987 Jim illustrated a published children's book, Ted Studebaker: A Man Who Loved Peace.  He was an avid fisherman, participated in numerous road races, three triathlons and one marathon.
  A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, July 8 at the Dunnellon First United Methodist Church (where he was a member) with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.
  In lieu of flowers,  memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Humane Society of Marion County, Florida.  Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, FL is in charge of arrangements.
